Delicate white blouse with flower pattern, recycled from a vintage kimono

 This pretty white blouse has been made from the lining of a vintage kimono and is part of a sustainable  collection I have named 'Waist knot ' , which is a word play on the saying 'waste not want not'

 All the items in the collection are made from vintage kimonos that i have collected, unpicked and washed myself so  I can guarantee their authenticity

 The blouse  features a long neck tie that can be worn in several different ways in order to further increase the sustainability of the garment. 

 The fabric , although very old is in god condition. It is a gorgeous creamy white colour and has beautiful flowers woven into the fabric.

 I have made the blouse to be a loose fit and the sleeves are gathered and floaty.  I have fastened the blouse at the back neck with gorgeous little pearls and rouleaux loops. The body of the blouse is lined in fine soft white silk. although delicate and floaty the fabric is substantial and shows no signs of its very vintage age.
